I know the Surrey area well as my home town is not a million miles from there! <br /><br />Emilie might be interested in the Anglo Italian Family History Society if she is interested in her Italian ancestry.<br /><br />Certainly it was quite common for Italians to leave their homeland and walk across Europe into England where many either hoped to board a ship to the US or simply ran out of money and stayed in the UK.
